Connector Privacy Policy
Effective October 8, 2026
1. Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy covers only the TeleDirectMD Connector (the "Connector"): a read-only software service that AI assistants, such as Claude and ChatGPT, call to retrieve general information about TeleDirectMD's service area, services, prices, policies and open appointment times. The Connector is operated by TeleDirectMD (Mahavir Health Services LLC) ("TeleDirectMD," "we," "us").
This policy does not cover the TeleDirectMD website, booking pages, intake forms, payment, video visits or medical care. Those are governed by the TeleDirectMD Privacy Policy and Notice of Privacy Practices and the Terms of Service. Use of the Connector is also governed by the Connector Terms of Use.
2. How the connector is designed
The Connector is built to work without personal or health information. Its functions accept only three kinds of input: a U.S. state, a number of days to search, and a maximum number of results. No function has a field for symptoms, conditions, names, dates of birth, contact details, insurance identifiers or free-form messages. AI assistants that use the Connector are instructed not to send personal or health information to it.
3. Information the connector receives
- Function inputs: a state name or code, a number of days, and a number of results.
- Technical request data: like any internet service, the Connector's hosting provider automatically receives request information such as date and time, the address requested, response status, and the network (IP) address and software identifier of the system making the request. In normal use that system is the AI provider's server, not your own device.
The Connector does not use cookies, does not create accounts, and does not ask for or verify identity.
4. Information the connector is not designed to receive
The Connector does not receive the content of your conversation with an AI assistant. It does not receive your name, contact information, health information, or anything you type, unless an AI assistant places it into one of the three inputs described above contrary to its instructions. If that happens, the Connector uses the input only to produce a response, does not store it, and does not write it to its own logs. Please do not ask an AI assistant to send personal or health information to the Connector.
5. How we use information
We use the inputs only to return the information requested. We use technical request data only to operate, secure, troubleshoot and protect the Connector, for example to detect abuse or outages. We do not use any of it to identify, profile, contact or market to individuals.
6. Storage and retention
- Function inputs and results: not stored. Each request is handled and then discarded.
- Appointment availability: the practice's open appointment times may be kept in temporary memory for up to 60 seconds to reduce load on the scheduling system. These times contain no information about you.
- Operational logs: the Connector's own code records only the type of an error (for example, "scheduling system timed out"), never request contents. The hosting provider's automatic request logs are kept for a limited period under its standard retention settings and are then deleted.
7. Third parties involved
- AI assistant providers (such as Anthropic for Claude and OpenAI for ChatGPT) decide when to call the Connector and receive its responses. Your conversation, including anything you tell the assistant, is governed by that provider's own privacy policy and terms, not by TeleDirectMD. TeleDirectMD does not control, receive or have access to your conversation.
- Vercel, Inc. hosts the Connector and processes technical request data as described above.
- Acuity Scheduling (Squarespace) provides TeleDirectMD's calendar. To show open times, the Connector asks Acuity for availability on specific dates. That request contains no information about you.
We do not disclose information received by the Connector to anyone else, except where required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, safety or security of TeleDirectMD, its patients or others.
8. Health information and HIPAA
The Connector is not used to collect, create, receive or transmit protected health information, and using it does not make you a TeleDirectMD patient. The Connector does not provide medical care, and nothing exchanged with it forms part of a medical record. If you choose to book a visit, you leave the AI assistant and continue on teledirectmd.com, where the information you provide is handled under HIPAA and TeleDirectMD's Notice of Privacy Practices.
9. No sale, sharing or advertising
We do not sell or rent information received by the Connector. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, use it for targeted advertising, or use it for profiling or automated decisions about individuals.
10. Children
TeleDirectMD provides care only to adults 18 and older. The Connector is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, or from children under 13 as defined by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
11. Security
The Connector accepts connections only over encrypted HTTPS, holds no patient data, keeps scheduling credentials in the hosting provider's encrypted secret storage, and limits the size of requests it will process. We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards suited to the limited information involved. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Your choices and rights
You can stop the Connector from receiving requests on your behalf at any time by disconnecting or disabling it in your AI assistant's settings. Because the Connector does not store function inputs or link requests to individuals, we generally have no personal information about you to access, correct or delete. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under state privacy laws; you may contact us using the details below, and we will respond as those laws require. For information you provide when booking or receiving care, your rights are described in the Notice of Privacy Practices.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always posted at this address with its effective date. Changes take effect when posted. If a change materially expands what the Connector collects, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
